PUBLIC PARKING
The nearest paid public parking lot is available at Ali’i Place at 1099 Alakea Street, up from King Street in downtown Honolulu. The weekday-parking rate is $0.75 per half-hour for the first 2 hours. After the first 2 hours, the rate is $1.50 per half-hour. Weekend parking rate is $0.50 per half-hour for the first 2 hours to a maximum of $3.00 for the day. The entrance to the parking lot is on the right side of Alakea Street (between Hotel Street and King Street.)

Metered parking is available on Richards Street and at Iolani Palace. Other commercial parking lots are available within walking distance.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (The Bus)
Many routes of The Bus pass through downtown Honolulu near the museum. From Waikiki, you can take route #2 (School Street – Middle Street); #13 (Liliha – Pu`unui Avenue); or route B City Express.

Most routes stop at or near the museum.
Ewa or Westbound: #1, 2. 3, 9, and 13
Diamond Head or Eastbound: #1, 2, 3, 9, 11, 13, 19, 20, 52, 53, 54, and 62

The Waikiki Trolley—The Red Line State Capitol Stop is a short walk from HiSAM.

ADA ACCESSIBILITY
An ADA-accessible entrance to the Hawai’i State Art Museum is available from the Richards Street gate on the Diamond Head side of the building. Visitors should contact the Visitor Services Manager at 586.9959 to make special arrangements for accessibility.
